Burkinaf'Asso

Burkinaf'Asso is a humanitarian association created and managed by 2nd year students of ICAM Nantes Engineering school. Every year, a group of students take over the responsability of the association and do the follow-up of the work undertaken by the previous team.

I had the honor and prilege of taking-over Burkinaf'Asso in 2006-2007 as President. During this year, the team of 8 students worked very hard to collect funds, liaise with the beneficiaries to know what help is needed, and , organise the trip.

The Association's main goals are to provide help to a little village off the capital Ouagadougou where villagers live without electricity nor running water in a very remote and unfertile land: Sigle.

The action undertaken implied:

- Providing funds to construct a Mill to crush the local cereal 'Mil'

- Bringing over medecine from France and funds to buy basic apparatus to the local 'hospital'

- Create and fill the school's library

- Install solar panels to bring light to the village

Burkinaf' Asso is still running today and you can follow news and donate funds (which will directly go to the people who really need it) by connecting to there website.
